93-year-old McLeansboro resident, Betty Burton Burns died Monday, March 24. A graduate of McLeansboro High School and the Gem City Business School in Quincy, IL, she worked in McLeansboro as an abstracter at Deister, Ward and Witcher. In 1967, she moved to Chicago and began working for Chicago Title and Trust until her retirement at age 65.
Survivors include a son, Jim, his wife Martha and three grandchildren, Heather, Camille and James.
Funeral services for Betty Burton Burns will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 31 at the Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro with burial in the IOOF Cemetery at McLeansboro.
Visitation will be from 5 – 7 Sunday evening, March 30 at the Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro.
