56-year-old McLeansboro resident, Rex Thompson died Monday, Nov. 10 at the VA Medical Center in Marion, Ill. A U.S. Marine Corps veteran, he was a laborer.
Survivors include two brothers, Larry and Robert Thompson of McLeansboro; two sisters, Vera Smith and husband Tom of Dale and Teresa Brown of McLeansboro along with several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Rex Thompson will be 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13 at the Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro. Per his personal request, his remains will be cremated and a private family burial of ashes will be conducted at a later date.
Visitation will be from 4 – 6 Thursday evening, Nov. 13 at the Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro.
Memorials will be accepted for the family at the Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro, which is in charge of all the arrangements.
