Frances Glendale “Glennie” Corwin, 91 of Mt. Carmel died Saturday, March 22, 2014 at Oakview Heights Nursing Home in Mt. Carmel, IL. Through the years she worked at different businesses as a secretary, telephone operator, and as a babysitter. Glennie was very artistic and loved to draw and paint pictures.
Glennie is survived by three children: Billie (Ken) Terry of Mt. Carmel, Tom (Sarah) Corwin of Mooresville, IN, and Jerry (Mary Ellen) Corwin of Mt. Carmel; eight grandchildren: Kenny Terry, Chris Corwin, Josh Corwin, Julia Corwin, Mandy Uhlrich, Heather Westlake, Emily Rummel, and Megan Coy; twelve great-grandchildren and a sister, Dixie (Lee) Norman of Oklahoma.
Her wishes were to be cremated. A Celebration of Life will be held at Jacob’s Well in Mt. Carmel on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at 1:00 pm for family and friends.
Graveside services will be at a later date at Allendale Cemetery in Allendale, IL.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association in her memory and will be accepted at the Ingram Funeral Home of Allendale, which is in charge of all the arrangements.
