Edith A. Smith, age 92 of Albion died on Tuessday, Feb. 2 in Scottsburg, IN. During her life, Edith enjoyed long-term working relationships at both the local newspaper office, where she was a typesetter for over 45 years and also for the Keith Reid Auction Service, where she was employed for over 40 years. Edith was a member of the Albion Moose and the Albion VFW. She also attended the Ellery Christian Church.
Survivors include her brother, Ralph A. Rigg of Louisville, KY, six nieces: Lonna Riggle and Donna Faris of Scottsburg, IN and Bonnie Roman of Louisville, KY, Anne Anniss of Olney, IL, Sue Woods of Peoria, IL, Lesley Boewe of Columbus, IN, and six nephews: Tom Wilkinson of Griffin, GA, Mark Bunnage of Ellery, IL, Randy Wilkinson of Augusta, GA, Bill Woods of Ladoga, IN, Tom Woods of Lafayette, IN and Chris Fewkes of Naperville, IL, three great-nephews: Adam, Brian and Elliott, two great-great nephews, and one great-great niece. Also surviving are three sisters-in-law: Evalyn Wilkinson of Evans, GA, Thelma Plunkett of Peoria, IL and Lois Fewkes of Albion, IL.
Her remains have been cremated and a memorial service for Edith A. Smith will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 11 at the Ingram Funeral Home in Albion. Inurnment of cremains will follow at Graceland Cemetery in Albion.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday, Feb. 11 at the Ingram Funeral Home in Albion.
Memorials may be made to the Ellery Christian Church and envelopes will be provided at the Ingram Funeral Home in Albion.
