Dr. Charles William Myrna, D.D.S., 90, from Carmi died on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 in Evansville, Indiana. A U.S. Army veteran of WW II, he attended the University of Illinois and graduated from St. Louis University School of Dentistry in 1953. He practiced dentistry for 45 years in Carmi. He was an active member of St. Polycarp Catholic Church in Carmi and served on the Finance Committee for many years.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Mary Jane Myrna, daughters, Carol L. Meyers, Nancy M. Given, and a son-in-law, John R. Given, plus many nieces, nephews and cousins in the Myrna, Mackovjak and Duchene families.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12 noon Thursday, January 14 at the Cook Chapel in Carmi with burial at St. Polycarp Cemetery at Carmi.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. until the time of service at the Cook Chapel in Carmi.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Polycarp Catholic Church, 209 S. Fourth Street, Carmi, Illinois 62821 or the Alzheimer’s Association Evansville Greater Kentucky and Southern Indiana Chapter, 701 N. Weinbach Avenue, Suite 510, Evansville, IN 47711. Memorials will be accepted at the Cook Chapel in Carmi, which is in charge of all the arrangements.
