Eugene H. “Sparky” Parks, 82, of Albion, Illinois died at his home in Albion on Saturday June 27th. Previously he lived in Homer, MI. and served as a Village Trustee for 12 years over the Sewer and Water Departments and served a Mayor pro-tem. He served as a Scout Master and was assistant Scout Master at the National Jamboree in 1964, also was District Chairman and member of Land of Lakes Counsel. Eugene was awarded the Silver Beaver medal for services rendered in scouting. He managed several manufacturing plants and was one of the founding fathers of Hella North America and Hella North American Lighting. He then was Vice President and Manager of Hella Electronic where he retired on September 1st, 2001, after 22 years of service.
He is survived by his wife Sharon of Albion, IL; sons David (Julie) Parks of Salina, KS; Partick Parks of Indianapolis, IN; Timothy Parks of Florida; step children Sherry Dillard of Mt. Vernon, IN and Bill Kennedy of Bridgeport, IL; several grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Services for Eugene H. “Sparky” Parks will be conducted at 2pm Wednesday July 1st 2015 at the Ingram Funeral Home in Albion, Illinois.
Visitation will be from 12 Noon Wednesday July 1st, 2015 until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be conducted at a later date.
