60-year-old Terry Allen Stanley of Foster, Oklahoma and formerly of Flora, Illinois, died on December 30, 2014 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He grew up and attended school in Flora and later attended Frontier Community College in Fairfield, Illinois. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and married the former Carla Flexter in Cisne, Illinois. He retired from Chevron-Texaco in 2003 after 23 years with the company, and was currently working as an off shore maintenance supervisor for the Wood Group.
He is survived by his wife: Carla Stanley; Son Derek Stanley and wife Jacey of Elmore City, Oklahoma; Daughter Dusti Austin and husband Trey of Littleton, Colorado; Three brothers: Loy Stanley and wife June of Valparaiso, Indiana, Orville Stanley of Flower Mound, Texas, and Ron Stanley and wife Barb of Wesson, Mississippi; Three sisters: Shirley Burdine of Flora, Illinois, Jencie Thompson and husband David of Clay City, Illinois, and Tracy Hurd and husband Ronnie of Flora, Illinois. Seven grandchildren: Kylie Austin, Zane Austin, Cole Austin, Devin Stanley, Levi Austin, Katelynn Stanley and Elyse Austin.
Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, January 3, 2015 at 2 pm in the Elmore City First United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Elmore City Cemetery.
Visitation is Friday, January 2, 2015 from 5 pm to 7 pm at the Wooster Funeral Home in Elmore City. Condolences may also be sent to the family at www.woosterfuneralhomes.com.
