Vera Ruth Felgenhauer, 89, of Mt. Carmel, IL, formerly of Fairfield and Danville, IL, died at 2:38 a.m. Thursday, November 6, 2014 at Oakview Heights Care and Rehab in Mt. Carmel. Vera worked 20 years as school secretary for District 118. In 1992, she and Richard relocated to Fairfield. Later, Vera was one of the first residents of Brookstone Estates in Fairfield. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Fairfield and was a former member of Second Church of Christ in Danville.
Vera is survived by her daughter Teresa (Dan) Lankford of Albion, IL., two sons Dr. Bruce Felgenhauer of Lafayette,LA., and Larry Felgenhauer of Zionsville, IN.; her sister Mildred Mathers of Danville; four grandchildren Danielle (Stan) Kimbrell, Lawson (Annie) Lankford and Glenn Lankford all of rural Albion, and Alex (Amber) Felgenhauer of the Nashville, TN area; and two great-grandchildren Drew and Olivia Lankford. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Richard, brothers Carroll and Virgil Cunningham and grandson Matthew Dean Felgenhauer.
A service to celebrate the life of Vera Felgenhaur will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, Nov. 11 at Spring Hill Cemetery in Danville, IL.
Visitation will be 10:00 – 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11 at the Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville, IL.
