Reverend Everett E. Gott, 89, of Enfield died Wednesday July 23, 2014, at his daughter’s home in Gordon, Georgia. During WWII, Everett worked installing hydraulic systems in P-47s at Republic Aviation in Evansville, IN. He then attended Linotype school in English, Indiana. He worked for several years for the Carmi Times. He pastored United Methodist churches around McLeansboro, IL (Oliver and Webb’s Chapel) and also Christopher and Greenwood UMCs, Farina, LaClede, Iola, Karnak, Olmsted, Ohio Chapel, Enfield and Wesley Chapel UMCs.
Survivors include his wife Ruth Dolores, children Larry (Ruth) Gott, Macon, GA, Anita (Terry) Logue of Gordon, GA, Mark Gott, Macon, GA and Holly (Jeff) Johnson, Mt. Vernon, IN, Grandchildren: Kayla Blades, Joshua Gott, Sara Gott, Jessica Roberts, Genni Kirk, Jonathan Kirk, Jacob, Nicholas, Emily, Julia, Josiah, Samuel, Benjamin, Mariam, and Gabriel Johnson, Great-Grandchildren: Phoenix Crowe, Ransom Roberts, Jackson and Nathan Blades, and Ava Lynn Kirk, Sisters: Frances McQueen (Battle Creek, MI,) Patty Bowman (Chrisney, IN,) Delbert (Lola) James (Troy, IN.)
Funeral services for Everett E. Gott will be 11 a.m. Saturday, July 26 at Wesley Chapel, UMC, Enfield, IL with burial in the Enfield Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9-11 at the church.
The Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Enfield is in charge of arrangements.
